Our staff is unique. We are not architects who see disabled access as an insignificant part of our design work. We focus on access and provide access consulting services in collaboration with professionals that bring an unparalleled multidisciplinary approach to access.
Our principal, Syroun Z Sanossian is a CASp inspector with graduate level training in both architecture and civil engineering. She has specialized in disabled access for over 15 years. She began as a field investigator and developed into an adept project manager and trainer, later holding positions as the disability compliance officer for the court construction and management department of the administrative office of the courts and program manager for ADA Transition Plan programs with various public entities in California. She also holds a position on the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) A18 National Standards committee. Her hands-on management style defines the firm.
Paul Klein collaborates with SZS Consulting Group on ADA Title II and III projects. Paul has worked for several local jurisdictional authorities as a Building Inspector, Senior Plans Examiner, Assistant Building Official and Chief Building Official. Paul is currently serving on the California Association of Building Officials (CALBO) Access Committee. From 2001 to 2005, he was a Plan Review instructor for the California Association of Building Officials (CALBO). Paul is currently an instructor for the, Sacramento Valley Association of Building Officials (SVABO), and the American Institute of Architects Central Valley (AIA). He is a current board member and past chair of the Code Review Committee for the Sacramento Valley Association of Building Officials (SVABO). Paul is a Certified Access Specialist (CASp) by the California Division of State Architect (DSA), is certified by the International Code Council (ICC) as an Accessibility Inspector/Plans Examiner and holds certifications from a variety of organizations such as ICC, IAPMO and NFPA. He is a member of The National Association of Accessibility Consultants (NAAC).
Paul also provides CASp training seminars through California Certified Accessibility Specialists, Inc. (CalCASP).
Jason Wiesemann, RLA has expertise in designing parks and recreation, master planned communities, urban and streetscape in context of serving the needs of people with disabilities. His career in landscape architecture began more than a decade ago while developing hands-on experience installing landscapes on numerous design-build projects. His passion for the landscape led him to earn a degree from Purdue University and pursue a career in landscape architecture. Project experience has allowed him to design both private and public projects of all levels of complexity. He also has experience performing construction monitoring and field assessments to confirm that projects are constructed per federal and Title 24 standards. His knowledge of public safety and environmentally friendly design provides the insight necessary to create innovative and sustainable design solutions that exemplify universal design principles.
Additional staff includes CASp inspectors, civil engineers, GIS analysts, IT experts, field investigators, technical and support staff.
